April showers brought May flowers and the outdoors are just lovely right now. But the weather is heating up and getting prepared for the summer heat can be a daunting task. However, our Verticool drop shades will keep you and your family cool all summer long.
Benefits of Drop Shades
Have you ever been catching up with friends in your beautiful outdoor seating area and a ray of golden sunshine blinds you? This is just one instance when a drop shade can benefit you. You can lower the shade but still enjoy the beautiful weather, view, and go on with your visit.
There are plenty of other instances like wanting to be near your kids while they are outside playing but not wanting the heat right on you. Or maybe you have an unsightly open outdoor storage space that you need hidden. Verticool will not only keep you cool but your house looking cool!
Other benefits include:
- Protects your family and friends from harmful UV rays.
- Allows you to use your backyard space during colder seasons.
- Enhances the look of your home.
- Reduces cooling costs.
- Gives privacy.
We know you have plenty of options when it comes to choosing drop shades. However, when it comes to making this long-term purchase, Verticool is a product that you can have confidence in.
Verticool is made from well-known and reliable fabrics like Textilene® and Awntex®. These mesh fabrics carry a 5-10 year limited warranty. Other features of the fabrics include:
- Provides 70-97% sun protection while still see-through.
- Rope-operated is also available in Sunbrella fabrics, providing 100% protection but not see-through.
- Comes in numerous color options.
- Infused with Microban® technology, an antimicrobial that inhibits the growth of stains and odor-causing bacteria.
- Blocks the sun but not the view.
Operation is made easy. With the rope-operated, the shades simply drop when the rope is released and raised by pulling on the rope. They are very similar to standard window blinds. Cleats attached at the side and bottom of the screen secure the screen when it is extended or retracted. Tie-down ropes are attached to the bottom to secure the shade when it is rolled down. They can be fastened to an existing object like a handrail or tie-down cleats installed by us. This helps when it is windy!
You can choose between motorized or manual exterior drop shades. Motorized shades include wireless remote controls to lower the shade with a push of a button. This is a major bonus if height is an issue.
Manual shades use a hand crank to raise and lower the shade. If you don’t have access to power, this is the way to go. The crank is super easy to use and it is removable so you can store it when not in use.
As mentioned, there are several material and color options. There are a few more options to quickly highlight. If cost is a factor, the rope-operated are the most affordable with the manual coming in second and motorized third.
Other exterior drop shade options:
- Wind sensor.
- Sun sensor.
- Remote control.
- Interior wall mount control.
- Home automation integration.
- Cable guided.
- Soffit mount brackets.
